CATALYTIC CONVERTER REMOVAL (RIGHT SIDE)
1. Raise the vehicle.
2. If equipped, remove the engine skid plate.
3. Saturate the bolts (3) and nuts (1) with heat valve lubricant. Allow 5 minutes for penetration.
4. Remove the exhaust hanger bracket (7).
5. Remove the lower catalytic converter flange bolts (3) from the y-pipe (4).
6. Lower vehicle.
7. Remove the battery box. Refer to TRAY, BATTERY, REMOVAL
8. Disconnect the upper (2) and lower O2 sensors wiring connectors.
9. Remove the upper bolts (2) at the flange to the manifold.
10. Using care. Lift the catalytic converter upwards to remove from the steel sleeve.
11. Remove the heatshield from the converter.
12. Remove the O2 sensors.
NOTE: The catalytic converter flange is secured to the cylinder head. A steel sleeve holds the lower section of the converter flange to the head while two bolts fasten the flange to the cylinder head. The steel sleeve does not need to be removed for converter removal.

CATALYTIC CONVERTER INSTALLATION (RIGHT SIDE)
NOTE: The catalytic converter flange is secured to the cylinder head. A steel sleeve holds the lower section of the converter flange to the head while two bolts fasten the flange to the cylinder head. The steel sleeve does not need to be removed for converter removal.
1. Install the O2 sensors (Fig 3) #1 and #3.
2. Install the heatshield.
3. Guide the catalytic converter into the steel sleeve and install the upper flange bolts (Fig 3) #2. Tighten bolts to 23 N.m (17 ft. lbs.).
4. Connect the O2 sensor connectors.
5. Install the battery tray box (Fig 2) #4. Refer to TRAY, BATTERY, INSTALLATION
6. Raise the vehicle.
7. Align the Y-pipe flange (Fig 1) #2 to the catalytic converter flange #5 and install the bolts #3. Tighten the bolts to 23 N.m (17 ft. lbs.).
8. Install the catalytic converter support bracket (Fig 1) #7. Tighten the nuts #1 at to 23 N.m (17 ft. lbs.).
9. Check the exhaust system for contact with the body panels. Make adjustments, if necessary.
10. Lower vehicle.
11. Connect the negative battery cable.
12. Start the vehicle and inspect for exhaust leaks. Repair exhaust leaks as necessary.
