
Disc Brake Caliper Adapter (Front) Explanation

FRONT DISC BRAKE CALIPER ADAPTER REMOVAL
1. Raise and support the vehicle.
2. Remove the front wheel and tire assembly.
3. Remove the caliper (Fig 1) #4 from the adaptor (Fig 2) #4 Refer to CALIPER, DISC BRAKE, REMOVAL
4. Remove the disc brake caliper (Fig1) #4 from the adapter (Fig 2) #4.
CAUTION: Never allow the disc brake caliper to hang from the brake hose. Damage to the brake hose will result. Provide a suitable support to hang the caliper securely.
5. Remove the inboard (Fig 2) #2 and outboard brake pads #3. Refer to PADS AND/OR SHOES, BRAKE, REMOVAL
6. Remove the caliper adapter mounting bolts (Fig 2) #1.
7. Remove the caliper adapter (Fig 2) #4.
FRONT DISC BRAKE CALIPER ADAPTER INSTALLATION
1. Install the caliper adapter mounting bolts (Fig 2) #1. Tighten the mounting bolts to 163 N.m (120 ft.lbs).
2. Install the inboard (Fig 2) #2 and outboard pads #3. Refer to PADS AND/OR SHOES, BRAKE, INSTALLATION
3. Install the caliper (Fig 1) #4 to the adapter (Fig 2) #4. Refer to CALIPER, DISC BRAKE, INSTALLATION
4. Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to WHEELS, STANDARD PROCEDURE
