FRONT DOOR LATCH ADJUSTMENTS
1. Locate the access hole in the door to adjust the door latch (Fig 1) # 1 and remove the mylar tape #2.
2. Loosen latch adjusting screw (Fig 1) #3 threw access slot in door shut face (1/2 to 1 full turn).
3. Operate the door handles several times to reduce any possible linkage binding and tighten the adjustment screw to 3 N.m (30 in. lbs.).
4. Operate the door handles again to verify proper operation and reinstall the mylar tape.
FRONT DOOR LATCH REMOVAL
1. Remove the carrier plate. Refer to PLATE, CARRIER, REMOVAL
NOTE: Front door shown, rear door similar.
2. Disconnect the actuator rods.
3. Disconnect the electrical connector (Fig 3) #1.
4. Disconnect the latch cables (Fig 3) #3.
5. Slide the latch off the latch bracket tabs (Fig 3) #2 and remove the latch.
FRONT DOOR LATCH INSTALLATION
NOTE: Front door latch shown, rear door similar.
1. Install the latch onto the latch bracket tabs (Fig 3) #2 and seat fully.
2. Connect the electrical connector (Fig 3) #1.
3. Connect the latch cables (Fig 3) #3.
4. Connect the actuator rods.
5. Install the carrier plate. Refer to PLATE, CARRIER, INSTALLATION
6. Adjust the front door latch. Refer to LATCH, DOOR, ADJUSTMENTS
