DRAG LINK TIE ROD END REMOVAL (KNUCKLE SIDE)
1. Raise and support the vehicle.
2. Remove the right front tire.
3. Loosen the drag link nut (top) at the knuckle (Fig 1). Leave nut on end of threading until drag link is separated from knuckle.
4. Separate the drag link using special tool (special tool #9360, Remover, Ball Joint) separator (Fig 2) #2.
7. Loosen the nut and bolt (Fig 3) #1 for the drag link adjustment sleeve.
8. Unthread the drag link socket from the adjuster.
DRAG LINK TIE ROD REMOVAL (PITMAN ARM SIDE)
1. Raise and support the vehicle.
2. Remove the drag link nut at the pitman arm.
3. Separate the drag link (Fig 4) #3 from the pitman arm using special tool (special tool #9360, Remover, Ball Joint) separator (Fig 4) #2.
4. Loosen the nut and bolt (Fig 3) #1 for the drag link adjustment sleeve.
5. Unthread the tie rod end from the tube.
NOTE: Count the number of turns when removing the tie rod end, This will give a good starting point when reassembling and toe adjustment.
DRAG LINK TIE ROD END INSTALLATION (KNUCKLE SIDE)
NOT: Do not tighten to specs until after the toe set is complete.
3. Install the tie rod end to the knuckle and tighten to 85 N.m (63 ft. lbs.).
4. Install the right-side tire.
5. Lower the vehicle.
6. Set the toe. Refer to WHEEL ALIGNMENT, STANDARD PROCEDURE
DRAG LINK TIE ROD INSTALLATION (PITMAN ARM SIDE)
1. Thread the tie rod end onto the drag link tube. Tighten the tie rod end adjustment sleeve bolt finger tight (Fig 3) #1. Do not tighten to specs until after the toe set is complete.
2. Install the tie rod end and nut to the pitman arm and tighten to 105 N.m (77 ft. lbs.).
3. Lower the vehicle.
4. Set the toe. Refer to WHEEL ALIGNMENT, STANDARD PROCEDURE
