MUFFLER DESCRIPTION
All engines use a stainless steel muffler and tailpipe assembly to control exhaust noise levels and exhaust back pressure.

MUFFLER REMOVAL
1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE
2. Remove the left side exhaust isolator (Fig 1) #1 from the muffler/tailpipe assembly.
3. Remove the right-side exhaust isolator (Fig 2) #1 from the muffler/tailpipe assembly.
4. Loosen the clamp (Fig 3) #1 and remove the muffler/tailpipe assembly (Fig 3) #2 from vehicle.

MUFFLER INSTALLATION
1. Install the muffler and tailpipe assembly (Fig 3) #2 into the vehicle. Tighten the clamp (Fig 3) #1 nut to 50 N.m(37 ft. lbs.).
2. Install the right-side exhaust isolator (Fig 2) #1 to the muffler/tailpipe assembly.
3. Install the left side exhaust isolator (Fig 1) #1 from the muffler/tailpipe assembly.
4. Make sure the muffler/tailpipe are correctly positioned and properly aligned. The minimum clearance between components is 25 mm (1 inch).
5. Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
6. Start the engine and inspect for any exhaust leaks. Repair any exhaust leaks as necessary.
7. Check the exhaust system for contact with the body panels. Make the necessary adjustments, if needed.
