
Power Steering Pump Pressure Hose Explanation

POWER STEERING PUMP PRESSURE HOSE REMOVAL
1. Siphon as much fluid as possible from the power steering fluid reservoir.
2. Remove the air box assembly. For 2.8L diesel, refer to BODY, AIR CLEANER, REMOVAL For
3.0L, refer to BODY, AIR CLEANER, REMOVAL For 3.6L, refer to BODY, AIR CLEANER, REMOVAL
3. Remove the pressure hose fitting (Fig 1) #1 at the pump.
4. Remove the pressure hose routing clip retainers (Fig 1) #3 at the frame.
5. Move the coolant bottle to the side out of the way.
6. Remove the pressure hose (Fig 2) #2 at the gear.
7. Remove the pressure hose (Fig 2) #2 from the vehicle.
POWER STEERING PUMP PRESSURE HOSE INSTALLATION
1. Position the pressure hose to the vehicle.
2. Install the Pressure hose (Fig 2) #2 at the gear and tighten the tube nut to 28 N.m (21 ft. lbs.).
3. Install the pressure hose (Fig 1) #2 at the pump and tighten the tube nut (1) to 31 N.m (23 ft. lbs.).
4. Install the pressure hose routing clip retainers (Fig 1) #3 and tighten to 7 N.m (62 in. lbs.).
5. Reinstall the coolant bottle back into position.
6. Fill and bleed the power steering system. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE
7. Check for leaks.
8. Install the air box assembly. For 2.8L diesel, refer to BODY, AIR CLEANER, INSTALLATION
For 3.0L, refer to BODY, AIR CLEANER, INSTALLATION For 3.6L, refer to BODY, AIR CLEANER, INSTALLATION
