SERPENTINE BELT REMOVAL, 3.6L
1. Disconnect negative battery cable from battery.
2. Remove the air intake hose from the fan shroud.
3. Remove the lower alternator support bracket M8 bolts (Fig. 1) #2.
4. Remove the center support bracket M10 bolt (Fig. 1) #3.
WARNING: A slow and steady application of force and motion is required when compressing the belt tensioner strut. Any aggressive application of force will result in damage to the strut
CAUTION: Do not let the tensioner arm snapback to the fully extended position, severe damage may occur to the tensioner.
5. Rotate accessory belt tensioner clockwise until it contacts its stop. Remove accessory drive belt (Fig. 3) #7, then slowly return the accessory drive belt tensioner into the free arm position.

WARNING: A slow and steady application of force and motion is required when compressing the belt tensioner strut. Any aggressive application of force will result in damage to the strut
1. Check condition of all pulleys.
CAUTION: When installing the accessory drive belt, the belt MUST be routed correctly. If not, the engine may overheat due to the water pump rotating in the wrong direction.
2. Route accessory drive belt (Fig. 3) #7 around all pulleys except the water pump (Fig. 3) #3. Rotate the accessory drive belt tensioner clockwise until it contacts its stop position. Route the accessory drive belt #7 around the water pump #3 and slowly let the tensioner rotate into the belt. Make sure the accessory drive belt #7 is properly seated onto all pulleys.
3. Position the alternator bracket into position. Hand tighten the support bracket bolts (Fig. 1) #2.
4. Install the M10 support bracket bolt (Fig. 1) #3. Tighten the bolt to 55 N.M (41 ft. lbs.).
5. Tighten the M8 support bracket bolts (Fig. 1) #2 to Tighten the bolt to 25 N.M (18 ft. lbs.).
