TIE ROD ASSEMBLY REMOVAL
1. Raise and support the vehicle.
2. Remove the tire and wheel assemblies from both front wheels.
3. Loosen the end clamp bolt (Fig 1) #2.
4. Loosen the nut (Fig 1) #3 at the driver side steering knuckle.
5. Loosen the corresponding nut at the passenger side steering knuckle.
6. Separate both tie rod ends (Fig 3) #3 from the knuckles #1 using special tool (special tool #9360, Remover, Ball Joint) separator #2.
7. Unthread the tie rod end from the adjuster.
NOTE: Count the number of turns when removing the tie rod end, this will give a good starting point when reassembling and toe adjustment.


TIE ROD ASSEMBLY INSTALLATION
1. Thread the tie rod end onto the adjuster.
NOTE: Reference the number of turns used to remove the tie rod end to provide a starting point for reestablishing the correct toe setting.
2. Insert the tie rod into the driver side steering knuckle.
3. Install the driver side tie rod ball stud nut (Fig 1) #3 and tighten to 85 N.m (63 ft. lbs.).
4. Insert the tie rod into the passenger side steering knuckle.
5. Install the passenger side tie rod ball nut and tighten to 85 N.n. (63 ft. lbs.)
6. Position the tie rod clamp (Fig 1) #2 and tighten to 46 N.m (34 ft. lbs.).
7. Install the tire and wheel assembly.
8. Remove the supports and lower the vehicle.
9. Set the toe. Refer to WHEEL ALIGNMENT, STANDARD PROCEDURE
