FRONT TRACK BAR DESCRIPTION
The front track bar is a forged component with non-replaceable bushings on the frame and axle sides.

FRONT TRACK BAR OPERATION
The track bar is used to control front axle lateral movement and provides cross car location of the axle assembly.

FRONT TRACK BAR REMOVAL
1. Raise and support the vehicle.
2. Remove the nut and bolt (Fig. 1) #2 from the frame rail bracket.
3. Remove the bolt and flag nut (Fig. 2) #1 from the axle bracket.
4. Remove the track bar (Fig. 2) #2.

FRONT TRACK BAR INSTALLATION
1. Install the track bar (Fig. 1) #2 at axle tube bracket. Loosely install the retaining bolt and flag nut #1.
NOTE: Frame bolt must be installed from front to rear.
2. It may be necessary to pry the axle assembly over to install the track bar (Fig. 1) #1 at the frame rail. Install track bar at the frame rail bracket. Install the nut and bolt (Fig. 1) #2 at the frame rail bracket.
3. Remove the supports and lower the vehicle.
4. Tighten the bolt at the frame and axle bracket to 170 N.m (125 ft. lbs.).
5. Check toe if a new track bar was installed. Refer to WHEEL ALIGNMENT, STANDARD PROCEDURE
